BUS TOURS

Tour 1: Hail to HistoryOne Day Tour, $78 per person View three marvelous historical sites in the Brandywine Valley that date to the 18th century and earlier. The Founding Fathers were here! Included in this package are Hagley Museum, colonial New Castle, Delaware and a revolutionary hot spot, the Brandywine Battlefield where you could have met George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette in 1777.

Tour 2: Bet on the BrandywineOne Day Tour, $85 per person

Explore three of the Brandywine Valley’s most outstanding attractions. Included in this tour are the acres of flowers at Longwood Gardens, dozens of distinguished rooms of American decorative arts at Winterthur and Andrew Wyeth and Wyeth family art at the Brandywine River Museum.

Tour 3: Delve into DelawareTwo Full Days, $135 per person

The tour includes six excellent attractions, two full days of comfortable bus transportation, and complete guide service. Day one, is spent exploring Dover, New Castle and Odessa; all outstanding representatives of Delaware’s colonial history. Day two, you will visit Hagley Museum and Library, DuPont’s first local property and to add to your understanding of our 19th century and Civil War history, you will visit the Hotel DuPont, the Delaware History Museum, Wilmington’s wonderful Victorian era Grand Opera House and the Quaker Meeting house.

WALKING TOURS

Tour AOne-day walking tour, $23 per person Walk along the Brandywine River near Wilmington. Enjoy the ambience of Brandywine Park laid out with the close consultation of Frederick Law Olmsted, noted landscape architect and designer of New York’s Central Park. See interesting bridges, fountains, and gardens along the path. Lunch in downtown Wilmington on your own. Rejoin your guide to walk in downtown Wilmington with visits to the Grand Opera House, historic Wilmington Train Station, and newly opened Tubman-Garrett Park along the Christina River.

Tour BOne-day walking tour $37 per person. Price includes entrance fee to Longwood Gardens and round-trip van transportation from downtown Wilmington or Longwood.

You’ll visit the beautifully manicured vistas of Longwood Gardens and explore the 1,050 acre domain, a former DuPont family estate. Easy walking paths throughout the estate enable a view of nearly every inch of the property. Lunch on your own at Longwood’s Terrace cafeteria. In the afternoon, you’ll explore Wilmington’s cityscape including Rodney Square, The Hotel DuPont, outdoor sculptures, The Grand Opera House, and the historic Wilmington Train Station.

Tour C – Five hour walking tour, $25 per person. Price includes entrance fees. Minimum group of 4, max. 20.

You’ll walk along the famous Delaware River in the footsteps of colonials who lived and died by the banks of the Delaware long before the Revolutionary War. We start our walk in New Castle, Delaware, a true colonial town. Included in the tour is a survey walk around the town with stops for the historic George Read House, lunch, and tax-free shopping. In addition, there will be plenty of time to go a mile or so along the river in Battery Park. The terrain is flat but comfortable shoes are a must. Tours may commence at the New Castle courthouse or downtown Wilmington depending on the size of the group.
